The Makers Basket Pop-up Shop
Five of us local Kāpiti makers collaberated as “The Makers Basket” to show and sell our beautiful handmade products for 2 weekends in July 2021! We set up a Pop-Up Shop at “The Garage” on Tutere Street, Waikanae Beach and were blown away by the show of support from locals as well as from people driving from all over lower New Zealand! The Makers Basket are a unique blend of Kāpiti women who share our love of nature and craft, selling preserved flower jewellery, frames and wreaths, heirloom children’s clothing and children’s play things, art and prints, and eco dyed clothing, homeware and accessories. we hope to create another Pop-up Shop in the future so keep an eye out!
Art For Everyone Project- Creative Kapiti
During February through May 2021 I participated in the Art For Everyone Project organised by Creative Kapiti. A selection of my Native New Zealand Birds Series were exhibited at Sotheby’s Realty in Raumati, Kapiti Coast as well as Property Brokers in Paraparaumu.
Solo Exhibition
My first solo exhibition in 2019 was an incredible experience! It was a huge success in that I learnt so much, gained a huge amount of confidence and sold a couple of art pieces!
I exhibited 15 of my original pieces along with a few of my prints at Footnote Cafe. I organised the whole event from the location, the installation, advertising and sponsorship with the help of Footnote Cafe, Duncan Forrest, Isabel Marcelo and Forest Road Brewery.
