Tensile Tūī

Tensile describes the way this Tūī stretches his elaboratly, decorated throat, while perching with firm stability on his flexible flax (Harakeke).

Tensile also encompasses the way in which the art piece was created. It was created in a malleable form by using polymer clay, then it was baked to harden while still retaining some of its semi flexible nature.
